Children need intense physical activity
An intense physical activity a minimum of seven minutes, children need.
According to a new Canadian scientific study, which points out that in fact nowadays many children do not take even this little time for exercise.
Specifically, the researchers studied more than 600 children aged nine to 17 years, of which attended physical activity for one week with portable instrumentation, combined with continuous recording of other health parameters (weight, waist circumference, blood pressure, etc. ).
The study showed that children do not need them long vigorous physical activity to reap the benefits of exercise for their health, and even seven minutes on a daily basis seems to be sufficient. But these seven minutes should really relate intense exercise to reduce the risk of obesity and possibly other health problems.
Specifically, research has shown that children spend more than two-thirds of their time (almost 70%) in sedentary activities, 23% in light physical activities, 7% in moderate-intensity activities, and only 0.6% really intense physical activity.
In general, boys do less sedentary than girls, while as much as the time spent in vigorous exercise, the less likely children are becoming overweight. Children with extra pounds showing rapid improvement in weight and waist circumference when they increase the time and intensity of physical activity.
According to researchers, there are the expected benefits to health if daily exercise is only mild or moderate, even though the time for these activities increased. In contrast, more critical is the amount of time spent for real strenuous exercise, even if it is short. In children they exercised vigorously for more than seven minutes a day at least, the benefits to their health were much better.
