The tedious work increases the risk of stroke or heart disease
The tedious chores but
generally manual labor increases the risk of stroke or heart disease, according
to a new Greek scientific research.
Specifically, the cases of 250 patients who had experienced
a stroke, 250 had experienced a first acute coronary episode and, for
comparison, a further 500 healthy subjects were evaluated by the researchers,
led by Dr. Demosthenes Panagiotakos, associate professor of biostatistics and
epidemiology Harokopio University of Athens, who made the announcement at a
meeting of the European Society of Cardiology "EuroPRevent 2013" in
Rome.

Panagiotakos tinise that people with physically demanding manual work and
should be considered eminently risk group for cardiovascular disease
prevention. While stressed that
these people experience a constant physical stress, which probably explains why
the hard physical labor is detrimental to the heart.
